Soci´t´ de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) is the dominant transit agency providing service for the regions of Gatineau and Outaouais in Western Quebec, right across the Ottawa River from the city of Ottawa, ON. STO operates a fleet of 246 buses serving 56 bus routes everday. Most of these bus routes provide direct connection to downtown Ottawa, and Tunney's Pasture Station on the transitway during peak hours. A notable fact about STO is the relatively high ratio of older high-floor buses in comparison to modern low-floor accessible buses currently active in revenue service. The oldest buses operated by STO are 2 ex-OC Transpo GM "Fishbowl" manufactured in 1977. Meanwhile, there are over 130 "Classic" buses manufactured by GMDD, MCI and Novabus still active and used for revenue service as of May 2010!
